Mindful Resolution

The Mindful & Modern Dispute Resolution Center, powered by Mindful Negotiators.

Mindful Negotiators

A MINDFUL NEGOTIATOR is distinct from other lawyers, mediators, or arbitrators in their approach to dispute resolution. A MINDFUL NEGOTIATOR employs awareness and presence to understand the deeper interests of all parties involved, aiming for a solution that acknowledges and addresses these interests. This approach can lead to more sustainable and satisfactory outcomes for all involved. Essentially, a MINDFUL NEGOTIATOR prioritizes how the outcome of a dispute affects your everyday life, placing your well-being above money, status, reputation, and other factors.

People's well‑being is our focus!

We recognize that every dispute involves people, and people bring their own internal struggles that work as barriers for conflict resolution. Internal emotions are often the root of external disputes. By addressing these inner tensions, we create the conditions for faster, more sustainable interpersonal agreements.

That's the IDR CENTER difference!

We apply the Mindful Negotiators methodology to our dispute‑resolution process.

Mindfulness Tool

Our SOS Divorce service is an emergency first stop for anyone who has just received a notice of separation or divorce, a lawyer‑drafted separation agreement, a letter indicating the start of divorce proceedings, or news of a Family Claim, and suddenly feels lost, unprepared, or unable to afford immediate legal representation. This service was created for individuals who are overwhelmed and unsure of their next steps.

What This Consultation Provides:
This consultation is designed to educate British Columbians about the separation and divorce process in our province, including:

The judicial process and what to expect

Available public and private resources

All resolution pathways, mediation, negotiation, collaborative law, litigation

The pros and cons of each option

But it goes far beyond education. This is also a strategic, mindful assessment of your unique situation. We analyze the conflict from every angle, family dynamics, financial realities, emotional well‑being, and mental readiness, to provide a clear, grounded opinion on your next steps. You will receive guidance on whether:

You are in a position to represent yourself

Your case is too complex and requires immediate legal intervention

A lawyer can be hired on a limited‑scope (bundle) basis

A collaborative lawyer is more appropriate

You should seek public or private services

You may benefit from professionals within the Mindful Negotiators network

Why This Service Matters: Starting a divorce without direction can lead to costly mistakes, unnecessary conflict, and emotional overwhelm. This consultation offers clarity, strategy, and peace of mind at a moment when you need it most.

For anyone at the very beginning of a separation or divorce, and unsure what to do next, this service is essential.

At IDR CENTER, we understand what’s at stake, and we’re here to help you resolve conflict with clarity, care, and expertise. Our team of professionals, associates and partners are trained in emotional intelligence, mental health, negotiation, and mediation.
